Now let’s just get some things clear out of the gate -- as the bat shit crazy libertarian of the club I do love all my trans/non brothers and sisters who disc golf and in normal life and all the other choices they make…I really don’t care. I’m more willing to give a lot of people freedom over them selves then they are comfortable having. I really don’t give a shit about personal choices.
Tricky- yeah I can make this opinion. I have been around competitive sports at relatively high levels all my life, I have a daughter who likes sports, I passed grade 12 biology/sex ed, and I have myself jumped down the rabbit hole of postmodern theory and am learning about this great new society that the Frankfurt school has dreamed up for us. Really what I speak should not be that controversial. From 5000BC to about 2002AD (about 7000 years) most would share my opinion. The greatest scientific thinkers over that 7000 year span would also agree with me most likely. I get sport, I get competition, I also get where these unique ideas are coming from, and I also get how these ideas become the norm and how things kind of sneak up on us by design and where they might take us. Most still do share my opinion but are afraid to express it due to the PC mob.
One could say it’s a politically loaded statement, but the people that lived during that 7000 year period I mentioned before would not see that to be politically loaded but a fair statement. Could you imagine trying to convince Thomas Edison there are really 58 gender options instead of 2?
I argue more from a competition point of view. What is the point of having a “protected” division that has walls around it if one can enter that protected division on how they identify. What’s to stop the 38 year old disc golfer with the bad knee identifying as a master? If “science” in the gender case is ignored, then you’ll have to throw out science in the method you calculate age (# of laps around the sun). The Doctor thing is not realistic for us, not worth the trouble since it’s only a local DG event not something too big, would be isolating and still debatable on its merits.
I think in our case yes everything is in good faith. I don’t see something like CeCe Telfer coming our way. And I do applaud the inclusive words you use in the poster its great – it’s ideal who we are as a club this is just where I draw the line for a few reasons. Be who you want to be I’ll support it, but there is a line at some point.
I’m guessing you did this out of default. I think PC Principal (South Park) has gotten to you Colin combined with your a nice guy and you don't want to offend anyone (text book Canadian) hahahaha.
Love JK Rowlly
(Hopefully some of you have seen the shit she's gotten herself into)
