@Greetings disc golfers.
Latest instructions had to make a few edits:
Welcome to the other side of the quarantine. Sunday league is ready to go:
When: Arrive between 12:45pm and 120pm. Once there is a full card to be sent out I’ll send it out. Results and money will be posted online and emailed (or we can figure something out)
Cost is 10$ per week (Non Members add 5$ green fee):
5$ goes to the weekly payout
2$ goes to the series payout for your division
1$ goes to the league overhead (until I have too much then I’ll put it in the league somewhere)
2$ goes to help provide some support the Ettyville course
Top 50% of the field is paid out weekly
There are some changes to the schedule moving forward and also the series scoring etc.The new schedule will be tentative due to:
a) if we get locked down again and
b) certain events being able to be carried out on the previous Saturday. They are marked in the schedule below.
League Dates are:
July 26th (Tentative – Outaouais Open VIII)
Aug 16th (Tentative ADGM Open)
Aug 23rd (Tentative Ontario Final)
Aug 30th Final
The dates that are marked tentative will be canceled if the event listed beforehand is still happening. Hopefully they are and those Sundays will not have a Sunday League day. Please note some dates may be canceled due to a 2nd wave of the virus also.
Each week players get 100 pts for 1st, 95 pts for 2nd, 90 pts for 3rd and so on until 0 pts are scored.
Players also get 5 points for each person they tie or beat. In case of a tie for 1st after 18 if a tie breaker can occur pts are distributed based on the result of the tie breaker. If I tie breaker can’t occur due to light, dangerous weather or another factor out of my control then the points are calculated as if there was a tie for first. Injuries or personal schedule or refusal to play overtime results in a loss in over time (2nd place finish).
Players will receive points each week based upon their standings within their division. A players series points are the players top 70% of weekly points totals PLUS the final:
For example: ((total played x .7) round downwards always) + Final :
6/9 and so on….
Since things might change the league Facebook page will be updated with the latest info on schedules, series standings, and other updates like how changes are affecting series standings and final standings.
If all events listed above are canceled there are 13 Sundays listed plus the final.
If all events listed above go ahead there are 10 Sundays being played plus the final.
(this is what I know so far)
The final point’s standings will also have a payout. 2$ from each entry goes towards the series payout for that division. The formula for the series payout is as follows:
Take the total # of players who played 50% of the Sundays in the schedule (for example 12 players played at least 50% of the Sundays)
The “field” in this case is calculated as 12, and the top 6 of the series standings will be paid out at the end of the year. Note this points total and payout has no criteria to qualify. If a player played 5 events and finished in the top 6 they are paid out accordingly. You don’t need to play certain # of times to qualify for the final payout. This exercise allows for a dynamic payout at the end as opposed to a rigid system. The larger the field grows over the year the better the payouts at the end.
Again, the final series points calculation is 70% of your top results PLUS the final.
The Final is a round just like all of the others. Same start time, one round, same daily points calculation. The score from the final is added to the total of ones best 70% results from the regular season.
